Guys take stuff out of your pockets, you're not going to need your keys or your whole wallet, just pop some cash in your jacket. Wallets phones and keys in pockets make for a lot of annoying Photoshopping after the wedding.
Don't worry about that spot, between me and your make up artist we'll make it disappear. Same goes for that bruise that popped up randomly yesterday. Don't worry these things are easy to vanish.
Ladies... safety pin your bra straps to your dress straps. Something that's not so easy to correct in post processing are stray bra straps, get the safety pins out and get pinning (from the inside), this goes for the bridesmaids as well as the bride and anyone else rocking a strappy frock
Speaking of pins, fellas pin your button holes from the inside.
Don't always look at the camera; when you spot that lens seeking you out from across the room, ignore it, don't stare and grin, and please don't do a thumbs up each time you see it (you know who you are!)
Don't freak about your dress/ suit/ shoes getting a bit dirty, if you want photos in a field it's going to happen, mud washes out. Don't be scared of sitting (or lying) on the ground or standing in places that might seem a bit strange, you'll love the end result, promise!!
Strapless dresses don't suit everyone; would you normally wear strapless? Some people look bloody awesome in them but some don't, don't just go for a strapless dress because it's traditional, floaty sleeves are pretty wonderful in photographs.
Bright sun and blue skies aren't always the best for photos so when I ask you to stand in the shade trust me.
Don't fret if it's cloudy when you wake up on your wedding day, darker dramatic skies can make some of the best images.
Rainy photos are awesome, but only if you're willing to participate, don't fret about getting a bit wet, you'll dry and you'll have some awesome photos for the rest of your life! Also think about that umbrella, the free one you got from the golf club might be massive and useful but does it go with your style? (ps Did you know you can even get light up umbrellas - Google it!!)
Don't worry about your messy house. I love honest photos, and wedding day chaos and mess is honest! I'll nip off with some of your details for some cleaner staged shots but apart from that, bring on the chaos!
Linger on that kiss; when you hear those oh so important words at the end of your ceremony, take your time, I'll almost certainly miss a quick peck so make the most of it!
Beautiful portraits take a little time, so make sure we've got 20 minutes or so (or longer if you want to nip off somewhere scenic in the car)
Please don't release balloons or Chinese sky lanterns, they might look pretty but they are a really serious danger to wildlife and their habitats...
Guests, when throwing confetti, please stand upwind...
Sparklers only really work in the dark, and you only get serious darkness pretty late on in the summer moths, don't get too tipsy to participate if you really want some of those awesome sparkler shots (ps the light painting ones also take a fair amount of time and often require an assistant)
Sunset is referred to as the golden hour for a reason... don't spend it inside if you're lucky enough to get a stunning sunset. These are the BEST images, you won't regret it.
Stop worrying about things and enjoy yourself
Please for the love of all photographers everywhere ask people to leave their ipads at home, unless they are used to entertain little ones with brightly coloured games and videos they are nothing but face blockers.
