It was a mental year, personally and professionally, so here are some of my highlights and favourite pictures...
In the spring I shot some pictures of the wildflower meadows in Sheffield for Green Estate. I love wild flowers and I so happy with these images that I'm thinking about exhibiting them this year...
In May I shot a very special wedding. I grew up with the groom, Phil, he is my best friends older brother and there really weren't that many kids in our village. It was an absolute pleasure (plus I got to hang out with loads of old friends)
June brought the Olympic torch to my home town of Sheffield and I was employed by Museums Sheffield to photograph it passing through the park and take some shots of the activities they were running alongside... I couln't even get close...
In July I shot an amazing wedding at Smallwood Manor in Uttoxeter. This wedding was so lovely and so different, I will confess that the groom actually made me shed a few tears during his speach, and also that this was such a brilliant budget venue with so much to offer that I'm planning on having my 30th birthday party there...
While on holiday in Scotland in July my boyfriend of 8 years Paul proposed, and we're now busy planning our own wedding...
In August I shot the wedding of Danny & Charlotte in York which was just lovely and later in the year my images featured on the brilliant wedding blog http://bridesupnorth.com/
September saw the launch of a fab new social enterprise and collaborative network 'There's Nothing Like A Sheffield Girl' concieved and run by the brilliant Felicity Hoy. Find out moreabout Sheffield Girl here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Theres-nothing-like-a-Sheffield-Girl/217731154978801
In October I had an amazing experience and ran my first and probably last marathon to raise money for a charity thats dear to my heart, the British Divers Marine Life Rescue, who rescue stranded whales and other marine mammals and nurse them back to health. I was so proud of myself but unfortunatly I'm still suffering with an injury incurred through training for this event...
In December we fostered this little darling and helped him get well before finding him a lovely new home, Im hoping that in 2013 I'll be able to foster more homelss dogs and help them find happy new lives and lovely new owners...
